The Road to Enlightenment

橘・戯 (pronounced kee-chee-dot-gee) is Chicago's very first all-girl anime/manga circle.

A circle isn't really a club, it's more like a family. Instead of members, a circle has sisters. Japan has several existing circles (the artist group CLAMP began as a circle). The "Kichi" circle is a creation of Hyogo-native, Ayumi, who hosts each Chicago event.

The main goal of this circle is to connect fans through a deeper appreciation of anime and manga culture.

So What is This About?

The Kichi circle meets in public locations deep in the heart of Chicago every few weeks. Ayumi directs and moderates the events, so anything could happen: Japanese language lessons, anime/manga discussions, cultural critique, magic spells, tarot lessons, and much more. Ayumi encourages confidence, expression and humor within the sisterhood. If you're shy, then this circle is definitely for you!

Participation

Obviously, you must be female and should also be over 17, since topics covered could be very mature.

To participate, request to join the Kichi Facebook Group. Once you're approved, you'll have access to the group's discussion forum for complete event information.

You could also drop us an email if you have any questions about joining.

Benefits

Why girls only?
Because it's a good start. ^_~

Why do we have to be approved?
Because I need to try and make sure our circle is as safe and secure as possible. I do have some staff to help me, but give me a break: I'm a short, 90lb girl who sometime struggles with English. ^_^;

Hey! I tried to join the Facebook Group but I was never accepted! Why won't you accept me?
The whole point of using Facebook to approve members is for security reasons. I usually check to see if you 1) are a real person and 2) a girl. If you have no information that I can verify, then I won't confirm your request to join.

What if I don't have a Facebook account?
You can email me a cellphone picture of yourself with "kichigi" written on your hand in marker, lol. I'm serious.
